What is Contra-Parallel?
A contra-parallel forms when two planets are at the same declination but on opposite sides of the celestial equator—one north, one south. It functions analogously to an opposition, creating awareness and polarity between the two planetary energies. Together with parallels, contra-parallels form the 'shadow aspects' of a chart, operating beneath the surface of standard ecliptic-based analysis. They often explain persistent tensions or attractions not visible in the standard aspect grid.
