Geocentric Perspective

A perspective that measures planet positions as seen from Earth's center, rather than from the Sun or from a specific surface location.

What is Geocentric Perspective?

Most astrological calculations—Western, Vedic, and virtually all major software—use a geocentric frame of reference. This means planet positions are calculated as they would appear from the center of the Earth, treating Earth as the observational origin. Heliocentric astrology (Sun-centered) exists but is rare and mostly experimental. Topocentric positions (from your exact surface location) differ from geocentric positions by only a fraction of a degree, usually negligible. Geocentric positions match what classical astrologers observed with the naked eye and what nearly every astrology reference book, chart calculator, and ephemeris publishes by default.

How TriAstra Uses Geocentric Perspective

TriAstra uses geocentric positions for all Western and Vedic chart calculations, matching the tradition followed by Astro.com, Solar Fire, Jagannatha Hora, and every major ephemeris. Your Sun, Moon, and planet positions will line up with any other professional tool you consult.

What Geocentric Perspective Means for You

Your chart places planets where they appear from Earth's center—the same view your ancestors looked up at and the same view every major astrology source uses. This keeps TriAstra's readings consistent with any other chart you compare against.
